Today was Amaya’s first snow day. We’re reading through the books of Laura Ingalls Wilder at bedtime, so of course, my mind turned to sugar on snow. With one thing and another, we never did get to it today. But there’s more snow forecast later in the week, and I think a new tradition should be established. Theoretically, it’s the easiest thing in the world. Heat maple syrup to 235°F and then pour it on fresh, clean snow. Once the maple candy firms up, it’s ready to eat. We’ll have to report back and let you know what happens. In the meantime, if anyone has a sugar on snow story, we’d love to hear it.
